Blech...I'm sure no dog would WANT to eat salt. Salt does kill them, but it will also kill your flowers/grass. I think they make yard treatments for them? Not sure if there are any that are pet-friendly.
Don't know about leeches, but I doubt that your doggie would willingly munch on a slug. Their slimy secretions are their defense mechanism and it has a bitter taste that most animals avoid. (Too much nature channel.)
