I followed a little bit of this thread, but thought rescue was getting involved and it was a done deal.

What I have done, as an IG rescue rep, when a dog needs to be saved fast, and transport needs to be arranged, is have the dog boarded or I've gone through a list of my adopters and friends and asked them to take the dog for a very short time, days only. In this instance, I realize you didn't have much time to make arrangements.

I also try very hard, no matter the scumbag, not that Mindy's mom falls under that catagory, to act understanding and sympathetic until I get the dog and a signed release form. After that, I don't care, I feel free to say what I think. But until I legally get the dog, I try to only be nice and sympathetic. Even when I have taken dogs from people who could care less what happens to the dog, I try to be unbelievably nice. And I can tell you, I have been tested.

It's a shame someone doesn't have the OP's email address to try to reach out to her to get the dog. It might be a good idea to check the shelters in the area to see if a yorkie gets turned in to them.
