It is normal for pups to cry when mom leave the whelping box. When they get a little older they will start feeling more secure when she leaves the box. The mothers milk will replenish itself every two hours. As long as the pups are gaining and acting content then you probably have nothing to worry about. I always leave a small fleece blanket with the pups and that gives them more security and mom can cover them if she chooses to.
The most important thing is to make sure mom is getting about 4 good meals a day of a quality puppy food. Her last meal should be around bedtime (10 p.m.) Too much of the goats milk might give her diarrhea. I mix a quality dry puppy food with a little canned Pedigree puppy food and I hand feed my mommas if necessary. I have never had to give whelping pudding or goats milk and all my moms have always had plenty of milk, some to them too much milk.
