He states that she can not walk as long as my Westie in this heat; she is too small; and to let her rest today and keep an eye on her.

Of course, no more beef - though he thinks these could be two separate incidents.

Keep an eye on her today; take her for a short walk tomorrow evening; monitor her during the walk and call him immediately for a blood glucose test if there is further weakness.

That's it.

Lordy. Sometimes I learn more here. I'll do the diet change on my own. I hope he knows what he's talking about. I will say he's taken excellent care of all my dogs and assures me he takes care of several liver dogs.

I'm going to see if we have any internists around here. I live in WV so I am doubtful.

Good news is - we are moving to Ohio and will be right by OSU if I need a specialist.

Makes perfect sense to me! That really IS a long walk for a little one in the heat and humidity!

Oh, living where there is good vet care is great! I remember years ago in NJ the closest EC was one hour away. That was so frightening if you had a sick pup. Finally, my vet started doing 24 hour care for his clients.
