My vet has never had to xray any of my pups or my fosters to diagnose LP and I have had many with it!

I suppose it could have escalated quickly, but that is not the norm imo. Besides, the way you have said this happened, she did not know that Bridget even had LP now until she did the xray. Makes zero sense to me!
