I recently had a pup (he has LP) fall ..yes fall, off of my bed onto a tile floor. Oh my gosh - you must have been frantic!!! He was limping and crying and I immediately took him to the EC. By the time I got there he was trying to walk on it. They examined him and gave him anti inflammatories. I was still concerned the next day and took him to my vet who basically said the same thing. He limped off and on for about a week...when he ran....then he was fine again!

It is very important that you keep her quiet while her knee is inflammed to give it time to heal. LOL - someone told me that pain meds were a double edged sword - it makes them feel better so it's harder to keep them still!! That is soo true. I need small doses of whatever they gave her to sedate her to do the x-ray. (Just Kidding). I can't get anything done because unless I'm sitting with her she is at my heels! (Maybe I shouldn't complain - gives me an excuse if nothing gets done)

Do you have steps or a ramp to keep her from jumping up on furniture? It is a good idea to train her now not to jump up and off of furniture! We use a ramp. I just took a long board and covered it with old carpet so it's not slick.

I can't tell you how much these posts mean - honestly it makes me teary to know that there are people like yourselves that are so kind and willing to help us "Yorkie Virgins". Your input is invaluable and appreciated beyond words. I honestly think I am a much better "mom" with all the knowledge I receive from everone here - and Bridget thanks you for that!
