I am getting pretty worried-our female is 10 months old and hasn't had her first heat. About a month or so ago she seemed to be getting a bit more "lovey" towards our male (who is only 12 months old) so I was on the look out for any bleeding to begin so we could separate them. We would like to breed them once and keep the puppies. Is it possible that he got to her before she started bleeding? What is the usual age for heat cycles to begin? I am worried because I know she is too young to breed and don't want anything to happen to her. I have never had a female dog before so this is all completely new to me. Please help!
