Just call me the bubble burster but fleas can get in between floor boards, wall trim etc. and lay eggs. Sigh. You don't have to have carpet to be infested.

One way to tell if you are getting bitten by fleas (especially if you are asleep) is they will bite you in a line. It looks like they bite then move forward then bite again. That is by no means the only way they do it but it is a dead giveaway if you do see that.

Do you have a flea comb? Those work well. One of the neat things about them is that they trap the flea at the base of the comb and then you can either smush them with your fingernail or take them to the toilet. (You can NOT flatten then though. That just makes em angry. LOL
