I wouldn't personally give my 9 week old free roam of the house, but that's my own opinion. There are so many things a 9 week old can and will get into that are dangerous for him and can be costly for you. If you can restrict him to the room that you are in so you can watch him at all times, but still give him some freedom, then I think that would be safer.
