I have no experience with male dogs, but do have expereience with silly husbands.
My dh was the same way. He wanted to let Maddie have puppies for all the common excuses. However, after I better educated myself on the health reasons to spay/neuter as well as the poor helpless puppies that suffer do to overpopulation, I began stuffing it all in his face. I showed him videos of puppymills, puppy auctions, everything I had viewed myself that had changed my opinion on breeding entirely.
I hope you are able to have your pups "fixed". Although you have NO intentions of allowing him to breed with your girl, what about all the other intact females out there, ya know? We all realize accidents happen and in these cases it is usally the puppies that suffer.
Keep working on your hubby, and good luck in convincing him your right!
