You could argue that the dog gets anesthesua for the neuter...
But I actually am one who believes, as does my vet, that routine neutering is unnecessary, risky and unjust. There is a lot of controversy about how neutering changes a dog and many believe that a dog should keep all of it's parts unless there is a good reason that is
not just human convenience (marking, irresponsible supervision leading to unwanted pregnancy, humping, etc)for the dog to be neutered like it is a health issue or something. There are other threads on here and articles on the internet on this subject as well so I won't go into detail but the myth that a dog who is neutered will live a healthier life is just that, a myth.
