My two were pad shredders, so I now use the washable pee pads. I had no trouble switching them over. I just put them down where I usually put the disposable ones.
Have you thought about a water bottle for her water? I switched to the bottle when they were getting their beards soaked with water and getting smelly. No water mess anymore, and no wet smelly beards.
