Hello there! I recently found this website and am thrilled. My husband and I just got a 5-month old Yorkie male and have instantly fallen in love with him. It's so much fun coming home to him and playing and having him sit on my lap and chew
I wanted to see if I could get any advice from someone. I completely understand that it is normal for a dog to bark. However, I have noticed that our little "Hoosier" rarely barks about anything besides knowing we are in another room. When we close the door and shut off the lights to go to bed - he is fine. When I walk outside and lock the door to go to work - he seems fine. He also doesn't bark when we are outside or when he is around other people. For example, I went home for lunch today and we played a little bit and I gave him his kong with some filling while I ate lunch. I went into the spare bedroom to check my email and eat and he kept barking. Is this just something we will have to deal with or is there any tried and true ways to help stop this? I've already tried shaking a coke can with pennies. It works, but then he does it again.
Thanks so much!
Heather
