in regards to your daughter it can be acute or accumulated so it could be a reaction to something she came in contact with within an hour of hives breaking out as usually it is an hour for reaction to hit.
Or in the case of accumulated it is from antibiotics where someone takes an antibiotic for say 15 days then breaks out as dd was on antibiotic for 17 days when she broke out in hives
so that might help in trying to figure out what she came in contact with within an hour of breaking out and MSG in food is known for causing hives as well in people as that happened to me when i ate chinese food once so i always make sure to check for msg in food now.
