Your pups size will have a lot to do with how much they eat. Feeding them wet food they are more liable to weigh more, as well as having their teeth decay quicker. My yorkie is a pig and would eat anything I put in front of her regardless if she just ate. I feed her dry only; 1/4 cup am 1/4 cup pm and she also recieves treat bones during the day. If your pup is able to be a self feeder than they usually regulate how much they take in. Remember that your pup is a good weight when you can feel their ribs and they have a waist. They are to skinny if their backbone, hip bones, rib cage are protruding. They are to heavy if you are unable to feel ribs, spine, or they have no waist. Remember though that dry food will swell, so what looks like a little actually will fill them up. A good way to see how much food they are getting is to place thier dry fod in a bowl of water and let is soak until it has fully expanded. Your pups frame will determine their weight range too.
