That's an excellent suggestion.

You can always use the excuse that you want to have any existing records sent to your new vet, as well as having the original vets number available if your vet has any questions.
I know the impulse is to rush in and rescue the pup from this situation. We all would want to do that. I'm just concerned that if she (the breeder) isn't on the up and up that even though you will be helping this one puppy, you will be encouraging her to continue (what at first blush appear to be) her bad practices. For your sake and the dogs sake, I truly hope she is telling you the whole truth.
