lets look at the upside - there was a line waiting to take home a puppy in a shelter ! How many times does that happen ?

Normally there's no one there to offer their home to these dogs and this baby had TWO homes !

You'll find a dog - there is always a reason these things happen - maybe she was meant to have that little dog and your new shelter dog is right around the corner an even better match for you !
I do want to mention that it seems like yorkie and other toy dogs don't last very long in shelters and are picked up VERY fast and it's because though there are good hearts that are in love with the breed and looking to rescue them, there are far more in this area looking for a cheap "purse Puppy" and they are only out to find that rescue dog for under 200 and not pay full price for a well bred one. sadly to say and let's all hope for this dog's sake i am wrong here, but my gut feeling and first impression spending time around this lady was that she was much more of the "look at me i have a yorkie" variety than a well researched person looking to rescue a dog. not that she won't make a decent home, but when i opened this dog's mouth and made a comment about how dirty her teeth were, the lady looked up at me with the most blank stare on her face like she had no idea why i would care about the dog's teeth. she didn't look the dog over once, she gave her to me while she filled out the application and she didn't seem to bond or even try to bond with the little girl. i know it's not something to base everything off of, but i'm good with gut instinct and i'm usually right about people's character based on first impressions.

so i'll pray this lady did that for the right reasons, but i can't say i believe that she really was there to help that yorkie but rather to scoop up a very cheap yorkie and go show it off!!

and seeing her at petsmart the same day picking out dog clothing with her girl friend didn't make me feel that she knew much about that pup needing immediate vet care and immediate grooming attention either!
