Default more than $2000 is too much

I think $1800-$2200 is about right for an excellent quality pet puppy in this region. You should question someone very carefully if their price is a lot less than that. Saving up your money and going for top quality breeding is usually worth it.
I know Steve Glass did a lot of wonderful work to call attention to liver shunt and to advance research and treatment. He has shown extraordinary dedication to the breed. However, I find his breeder directory to be out-of-date and his criteria for accepting listings unfair. I've heard various things, including that he only accepts YTCA member who bile acid test their puppies. Be careful about leaning too heavily on one source of advice or information, and don't be shy about asking a breeder for references from their vet, several happy customers, and even other breeders.
Good luck!!!
