I'm so sorry you had such a bad day. Someone on YT mentioned "getting to know" the shelter folks. Wow! I think that is such good advise. I'm not kidding. I would be making a batch of cupcakes and taking them by there. I would say "thanks for all your hard work". And then share with them what your qualifications are, as you have many.
In my business, I am in contact with many, many new parents as they welcome a newborn into their family and I hope you take this the way I mean for it to be received....pets are emotionally demoted when babies arrive. The first few years require so much undivided attention that you can only be spread so thin. I can tell from your post how much you care. You are in good company. But maybe, hopefully, this other woman can make the yorkie her baby. You know how Yorkies love to be THE baby.
