When I cook up the rices, split peas, millet, lentils & barley, I throw in about 8 to 10 whole cloves of garlic but when the grains are done, I discard the garlic. I've never had a problem with them and they are getting the oils from the garlic in their food. (The grains total 8 cups, so 8 to 10 whole cloves of garlic isn't really that much for the amount of grains I cook). My dogs also get yeast flakes in their healthy powder. I think because of how I cook for them plus the yeast in the healthy powder, it's the reason they have never had a flea or tick.
