Having to hand feed a baby is not uncommon. It is one of the 'not easy' parts to breeding, but sometimes is necessary. Since your vet has seen him and found nothing wrong, there is no reason to give up on him.

I have hand fed babies for 3 weeks straight and supplemented for another 2 weeks, but that is what the situation called for. He really must eat regularly or dehydration can set in quickly and then you can have real problems.

The goat's milk with equal parts water and a little karo added works very well. It is much easier on the digestion than commercial formulas and some of those have been found unsafe. He should do fine as long as he's fed around the clock. If there are no health issues, he will turn the corner when he's stronger and nurse with the litter. You're just going to have to be 'co-mommy' for a while.
