Spybot is one I wouldnt do without ! Also - a real time running program will block threats - I found AVG is very good

I have a pay program that works great but didn't install it - a friend did and I wish he didn't cause when it runs out after a year - I'd have to pay

I'd def go back to AVG - never had a problem with it - just turn on auto updates so you are always current with definitions !
