Default Tums as source of calcium for ears during teething

I took Betty Boop to a new groomer this morning and we started talking about everything. This lady has a champion show yorkie. I told her how the Boopster's right ear doesn't always stand erect. She told me that since she is only 10 months old that she is still teething and that ears are prone to droop because the calcium used for teething can deprive the cartilage the calcium it needs.

After saying all of this......Is Tums a good source of calcium and does it harm the dog in anyway. She told me to give 1/4 of a tablet each day for a few months.

Thanks!
