I agree about not getting such an operation. I don't think anyone would even consider such a thing unless it was a critical situation where the barking was making it a "stop barking or give up the dog" scenario.
I can get my guys to stop barking, but it can take a while, and if you give into them and do what they want to get them to stop, you are just training them to continue barking even more. I love my Yorkies as much as anyone could, but it would be great if they were of the barkless variety!
