That is very scary... esp considering that Jackson is a larger Yorkie. Imagine what the ones that are less than 5 pounds go through when they get a reaction to it.
One thing I have read lately though is the newest Lepto vac is supposed to immunize against 4 different strains of the disease, the older one only covered 2 strains, and they think it was the debris in the solution that is the culprit causing the bad reactions. So they say they have cleaned it up a bit to remove the debris and therefore they claim it is now safer for smaller dogs and puppies. I definitely won't be trying it for a year or two, I'll wait and see how it does. (This report cited results from Banfield... something like 1% out of 200,000 vacs given had a problem.... Didn't know we were part of a study?
