We have also had some x-rays done, her hind legs are totally stiff with arthritis, she's not sure if she originally had an injury on one of them. We can put her on a pain med but have to get the mitotane somewhat regulated first. Poor little girl, she is so tiny! I can't imagine letting a little 3lb yorkie get in this condition, well, I can't imagine letting any dog get in this condition to be honest. I'm glad I have her.... |
You're so wonderful

I hear you on the spendy! For the last year, we've had ACTH stims every 4-6 weeks or so, plus thyroid levels, plus meds. With the diagnostic process, we've spent about 5k this year on our Wylie. He likes to spend.
Her poor little legs...with all that cortisol running thru her system, I'm sure it really did a number on her joints; that's just awful about the previous owner.
Another less toxic thing that can help w/ the coat in Cushings dogs is Melatonin - did the vet mention that? Cheap, easy to find - make sure it's the regular kind, not sustained release. Lot's of Cushingoid dogs are on this as adjunct therapy.
