I think on a regular diet there is too much protein and it overworks the liver.... when they get put on a low-protein diet, less toxins are produced thereby eliminating the cause of UTI.

Sounds like what we used to collect samples from race horses after the race. May want to try a tack store, or large animal vet supply....
