 Need some advice please
Before I post this question/situation, PLEASE if you are going to bash on me and say how irresponsible I am, please don't waste my time. Things happen and my boyfriend and I are seriously concerned and not sure of what to do. So please, only post helpful or insightful information.
Ok, so here goes. My boyfriend and I have two yorkies (and a mutt). The male yorkie is 2 yo and 10 lbs. Our baby girl Gabby is 10 1/2 months old and 4.8lbs. We were planning on breeding them once (against my will and better judgment) but not until her second cycle. Well, things didn't go as planned and yesterday we caught them locked. We have had them separated all throughout her heat and have done everything possible to avoid this from happening. I had them together for 5 minutes (Gabby also had one of those diapers on as well) and I turn my back for one to close the dishwasher and they were locked. They stayed like that for about 5 minutes although it seemed a lot longer. My boyfriend and I are extremely concerned on what to do. We know that our options are emergency spay, or let her carry to term. We are dead stuck in the center. My heart is leaning towards an emergency spay but there is a part of me that would feel horrible if my boyfriend didn't get his chance to have her have puppies. My main concern is her age, and the size of my male. He is a little more than half her size (in pounds) and although he was a small puppy, I'm fearful of her being so young still. We are taking her this week to the vet to get their opinion, but I have to say a lot of vets are biased on breeding due to the increased amount of back-yard breeders. If anyone could please give me some helpful advice/opinion, I would greatly appreciate it. Thank you
