We trained Bailey to 'come' from the very first day that we brought her home. Its a command that we practice and reward daily. Our situations are different - we have no kids and Bailey is a singleton. Bailey is always supervised when outside - she knows the boundaries. Being leash-free has afforded Bailey a lot more freedom than most. As I mentioned - its not for everyone but it works for us.
