There have been several threads about the "Q" registration, and basically if a dog doesn't match up with DNA from the dam or sire, a Q is placed by it's name, the Q is removed after three generations, I believe. The YTCA is keeping a list of all the Q registrations, and the Q will stay on their lists. Breed clubs should go one step further than the AKC if ancestry is questionable, and this is something I think the breed clubs are trying to fight.
