I did this with my Cane Corso when he was 6 months old....after his puppy Kindergartens and Basic Obedience that we did together. He went for 3 weeks, and lived there. No, he did not forget us, and he was outstanding when he was done with the 3 weeks of training. Off leash, on lease, you name it, including distraction. Then we went together again for more training as a team. He also went back for PP training (Personal Protection) when he was 3 for 3 more weeks. He loves it at the facility, and they treat him great.
No, my wife would not let the Yorkie leave for a day, let a lone weeks. She did the training one on one, but Maxine still does her thing. So, I guess for a Yorkie, no, especially if they get stressed without you. There are also bigger dogs at training facilities, and always a poosbility they will get hurt, though slim. |
