I hope it works for you too, that sounds like quite a set-up.

I should have posted this before but my father-in-law is a bird expert and suggested using crow decoys to try and ward off the hawks. Seems crows and hawks don't get along and the hawks avoid them. So, we purchased the crow decoys and yesterday my dh set them up on the fence around our yard. I still won't leave the pups outside unattended, but we'll see if any hawks circle now.

Those big black birds not moving off my fence look kind of funny

Btw, if anyone else wants to try this, the crow decoys were bought at Bass Pro.....$30 for 6.
