Each one is different. I have girls and boys that the minute the go out they do their business. And there are the others that have to sniff out the whole yard before they find that spot. Other's won't go in front of me, they hide behind the bush. But, I've found puppies are the worst, they are so easily side tracked, you know that attention span thing....a flower, a bug, a sound makes them forget that they have to go potty, even though they've run to the door and asked to be let out.
