I was hesitant of posting the adopted girl's story bc I didn't want this story to be one of those that gets heated & take a life of it's own. I want this thread to remain neutral, yet be informative & educational.

The important thing here, is to learn & know what the red flags are & when to walk away.

Signs of unethical breeders. Please feel free to add onto the list. These are just random ones that I can think of at the moment right out of my head, so they're not in any particular order.

1. Breeder will not show mother or father or the environment they live in.
2. Poor communication, no return calls, not detail oriented.
3. Check the adult's teeth, overall condition. If the breeder cares for her dog's health, esp those of breeding stock, they will be well taken care of.
4. Never purchase a puppy over the internet w/out #1. Go see the mom & dad, siblings & their living environment. Plus, a responsible reputable breeder will want to meet the new family. Sometimes the dad will not be around if they used a stud. Ask to see pictures & other info.
