I would get her treated. As you know I live in FL too. I had that happen last year when I got Max. The vet said we didn't really need tick treatment since we don't usually have a tick problem in our area. Well within a week I had a tick problem...it took about 2 months to get it under control and that's with Max on K9 Advantix. I don't know how small Olive is, but its a good idea since we're seeing temps in the 80s these days and its about that time of year for fleas and ticks. I don't think it will be an isolated incident, JMO. Good luck
