Welcome and how wonderful to take her in and get her back to health. I recently took in an older male from a lady I met who recently had a stroke. She had gotten Nikki as a rescue 2 years ago with no history on him. When I met Nikki his breath was so bad you could smell it from a far. He had to have all his teeth pulled. He was always a bad eater but improved some after his teeth were removed. When I took him 2 months ago he was of course stressed from having to be rehomed and lost more weight. He was 4 lbs when the rescue got him and 6.3 when I brought him home. He then lost 13 ounces the first month I had him. He has gained some weight back but you can still feel all his bones. He is estimated at 13-15 years old so I think that may be why he feels so boney. Iam feeding him the only thing he will now eat which is Cesars, which is bad but I couldn't let him lose any more weight. Please keep us posted on how she is doing. |
