here's an interesting article i found online about how this particular breeder prices her pups ...

and ... a breeder may not let people into their home to protect the puppies. germs cling to clothing, skin and hair so everyone coming in to my home is asked if they've been to a pet shop or another breeder's home earlier that day and if so i ask them to please come back another time. all visitors remove their shoes outside the door, leave their coats by the door and wash their hands before they touch anything. my puppies are not handled by the family until they are 8 weeks old and the mom's aren't handled until after the litter is weaned. this may seem excessive but i know a breeder who lost her entire nursery because someone came to her home right after visiting a pet store and brought a deadly virus with them which made me a little paranoid.
good luck finding a puppy!
