Zack and Zoey are Hospice Pet Therapy Dogs. We visit the Hospice and Nursing Home Residents a couple of times a months along with several other Pet Therapy Dogs.
It is a most rewarding experience to see the Residents faces light up when they see/handle the dogs. They are most appreciative of having the dogs for a little while, even if it for just a couple of minutes. It helps them to relive earlier years when they had their own pets.
Both our pups are quite tired both physically and emotionally when we finish and they usually just fall pleasantly asleep on the ride home.
