Yes, they are types of anesthesia. Each vet has their own preference. I like Iso so far... These are gases used for maintenance. Halothane is another one, but I would not use it. Before they can intubate and give him this gas, something is used to "knock down." You can read about all of this in the YT Library.
Sometimes they can be masked down with Iso prior to intubation...
