We fought coccidia (sp), kennel cough, and hypoglycemia. I suspect she wasn't really old enough to leave and wasn't, in fact, weaned. My vet is pretty no nonsense and constantly available...and I was in a position to be home so I could force feed her with Science Diet (prescription) every 2 hours for the first month and a half or so (via syringe)...plus a lot of nutrical and caro syrup...and pepto bismol.

We got her because we needed a puppy asap (personal illness and two deaths in my family). I was honestly surprised that she made it through everything.

That said, her papers say she is a yorkie but there's no way she's full-blooded. We're pretty sure she's a morkie. I wouldn't trade her for anything in the world, but I hate that she went through all that and can't imagine the pain for the people whose puppies didn't make it...I don't think there's much one can do except hold their breath and tend to them.

My mom has what is reputed to be Nora's sister. The two girls couldn't be more different...as in not the same breed. Mom experienced no complications with her puppy...but mine's cuter

My deepest sympathies to those who lost their little ones. If it's any solace, mine is spoiled rotten and deservedly so
I am so happy for you. Yes, we will do anything to keep them healthy and safe. I have one from a puppy mill who has a genetic pancreatic disease. It costs lots of money to keep her alive and healthy but it is worth it. Blessings to you. ~Joanne~
