Is it bad to breed Yorkies that are small? Is Chloe prone to health problems from being small or is it more from the aspect of what can go wrong with mom during the pregnancy? She dropped from 2 lbs 11 oz to 2 lbs 4 oz... but when the vet weighed her the 1st time she had just eaten a bowl of food... we had finally found a food she liked and she was so happy to eat it! Plus, our vet tech uses a scale that has the numbers that spin around to the correct weight and with movement Chloe would go from 1 lb to 2 lbs, 14 oz... I hate those scales and wish they had a more accurate one... I have never had her tested. Are there symptoms I should watch for? She has never had any issues and she probably never lost weight... but there was a bit of difference via the vet's dinosaur age scale. Again... I really appreciate your help

You mentioned that has dropped weight, she's 6 months old, have had her tested for LS/Bile Acids?

At 2 pounds I don't think I'd advocate spaying either, unless it's by a qualified Toy Breed Specialists and is well versed in spaying tinies. Now there is some ramification of not spay, that being a remote possibility of mammary cancer, but pyrometria is what scares me the most. I can recommend vet that specializing in yorkies, but he's in Dallas.
