I agree with you. That's why I promoted knock-offs just like mine. I got lucky because I worked at a salon, so I obviously never paid that price. Just the fact that it's lasted 6 years (and is not coated like CHI) and going strong- is quality. Also, I have family in the business and do they very very well for themselves. My uncle's ex (that he owns 2 salons with still) was featured on Oprah so I have heard/know of lots of hair and their special stories.

Mind you, if you think I'm throwing around money- I make minimum wage doing what I love, and someday all this experience will chalk up to a full time position making double... *crosses fingers* lol It isn't much.

Sorry to hear you feel your hair is hopeless- maybe you need a new stylist
