Hi Madelein,

A number of things can cause itching: bathing too often, type of shampoo, diet, allergies, weather, fleas. If the itching started right after her grooming, it was probably caused by the shampoo and/or being shaved.

Try to wait a few days before another bath (unless the itching is severe) and use a soothing oatmeal shampoo plus a conditioner. Right now I use Biogroom Oatmeal shampoo and Biogroom Silk Creme conditioner, both available at Petsmart. Edit: I see you are in South Africa and probably don't have PetSmart stores. Any good oatmeal shampoo and conditioner made for dogs will do.

To combat knots -- stay on top of brushing and combing your pup's hair as it grows.
