I'm no help because each dog we did differently.
Finnigan, we only did the microchipping and Gwenndilyn we did shots and microchip. Neither dog even acted like they felt the microchipping and Finnigan has a really low pain tolerance. If you're at the vet may as well get both as it saves a visit.
