I found that to be true as well. We knew the breeder, so we had our pick. The Yorkie we originally picked out was much smaller, but the day we went to pick him up she noticed that he wasn't walking and he had to go to the vet - later we found out that he required surgery that cost around $1000. She sold the rest of her litter and the remaining two from another litter for 1$1450 each. Most of the Yorkies she breeds are of a smaller size, but she is careful not to inbread, so genetic anomalies may vary the size of each puppy. That's why we though Fifi was going to be around 5lbs and the orginally puppy we picked out was supposed to be 3lbs. But I think no one can really know for sure. I've seen were the runt of the litter can grow to bigger than the rest is properly fed. I was curious about the growth rate as well. I guess they have growth spurts, but when do you know when they are as big as they are going to get?
