Very few puppy buyers are educated on how to go about their search for a reputable breeder. You see it everyday on YT. We all live and learn by our mistakes....
The majority of people don't know what is available to them. It's based on the old days. You bought a dog or found a dog and never expected much from the breeder. Things have evolved so much. Even those that we know have the money to spend, like celebrities....where do they go, bybers, pet stores, puppy mills, what do they buy, designer dogs.....
