Normally, IMO, it's the caretaker that the doggies attach themselves to. Hasn't been true, though, for our dd's rescue Pommie. That girl has known from day one that Meg was her mommy. I've had Moxy for over a year with Meg dropping in for visits every so often. Moxy doesn't leave Meg's side the entire time she is home. Moxy is going to love it when her mommy finally graduates from pharmacy school and has her own place that allows pets.
