i know - isn't it nice? i can't imagine living anywhere else!

i've changed a bit about that since i have children and i would never put them at risk, but for the most part - it's just in me! there was a homeless man who used to eat at the restaurant i worked at in high school EVERY day. when i would see him walking, i'd pick him up and my friends would be like, "what are you doing picking up a bum?!"

he wasn't a bum - he was homeless. he was a human, and a nice one. i realize not everyone is nice and that's why i won't pick someone up when i have my children with me - but i like to think for the most part that people are good.

i also believe in karma, and there has never been a time that i was stuck on the side of the interstate that someone hasn't stopped to help (whether i needed it or not).
