I really think the only thing that made her give me a second look was that I brought my Heidi over with me and she was smitten with her. Still, nothing was automatic and it was quite unlike a 'business deal'.
When I went to pick up Rocky it was alot like this, we didn't actually discuss me taking home a dog at all I was coming to meet them and the breeder. There were 2 males that she was rehoming and I got on the floor with them and got to see their personalities. Teddy the other male wanted nothing to do with strangers in his house, and I could see that both boys loved the breeder very much. Rocky was so amazingly sweet and special and beautiful. We talked about ourselves, and yorkies and at the end I had the option to take Rocky home with me and that was the only time we discussed any price or contracts or anything, it was not automatic and I felt privileged to be able to meet her and be trusted with Rocky. I couldn't imagine calling a breeder and saying some of the crazy things that I have read on this thread
