it is extremely natural for them not to always be "best buddies" i cant see where someone who has been so involved would not see that
i have never met to adult woman that live together that have squabbled around hormonal times..its nature..it happens and anyone that tells you different either keeps them separated at all times, specifically heats and pregnancies, or doenst have multiple females
males will also squabble over a in heat female..thats natural...heck i knew that stuff long before i started studing yorkies
